A BIRD’S HEART IN THE SHADOW OF AN IMMIGRANT

“should I be a bird”
at the meeting point of tundzdha with arda
in the sky
a kite aloft.
you are by my side, you are in my hands
and your smile lending a hand to light.
delicate in my dreams
coming with a beauty of milk white
with the sounds of the deer
with the sounds of the antelopes.

what suleyman looks for
falls down into a deep compassion pit
the heart of a hoopoe bird
on the silver leaves of weeping willows.
the shadow of an immigrant from igridere
slams the legs of the stone bridge
with the sounds of the deer
with the sounds of the antelopes.

“should I be a bird”
as free as my dreams
as big as my heart.
at the meeting point of tundzdha with arda
the shadow of an immigrant from igridere
breathes life into my fingertips
gives life
with the sounds of the deer
with the sounds of the antelopes.
